The United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands

Our History - THE Unions of UCJCI

The first Union was on December 1, 1965 between the Presbyterian Church and Congregational Union. This formed one church in Jamaica and Grand Cayman.

The Second Union was on January 13, 1992 when the Disciples of Christ joined the Union. The Ceremony was held at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica. This made us The United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.

The Mission of UCJCI

"The United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands exists to bear faithful witness to God's love through Jesus Christ and concern for the holistic development of all persons and God's creation through life-giving worship and evangelism, social and educational engagement, personal empowerment, advocacy and faith formation toward a just and peaceful society and the ultimate experience of God's Kingdom."
